All 8 of the standard Warframe or Weapon slots would still be using regular Forma, which would carry over between Configs.

So, an idea: when you re-polarise a slot (say change D to a V) you get the option to invest 2 forma (instead of 1) to create a dual polarity that works with both old and new (so D and V mods are reduced, - or = would still increase).
