Window switch update. I brought the car to the dealer this morning and apparently this window switch issue is a very common problem! Apparently it just needs to be reset and the way you solve the problem is to run the window all the way up so it's closed, then you pull on the up switch again and hold it for 3 seconds. Try resetting the window ... hit the down window button, then raise the window while holding the switch in the up position for a few seconds after the window reaches the top to reset things ... hopefully everything will work as it should after that. 2021 Outback Limited 2.5.

The window was occasionally getting stuck in the fully open position and would not close. Close all windows and doors. Open the window by pressing and holding the window control switch. When the window is fully open, keep the switch pressed for a few seconds. Release the switch, then press it again and hold it for a few seconds. Close the window by lifting and holding the window control switch.

Ok try a capacitive discharge, make sure the key is off and disconnect both battery cables, then touch both cables together for about 10 seconds. This completely drains all the capacitors in the car and it's just a more effective way disconnecting the battery. Really makes sure everything is reset. 1.Auto up/down on windows won't work, and from the driver's control can't control the other windows... all 4 windows on yours are auto up/down.... at each door, roll the window about halfway down, then roll them back up, holding for one second after it closes. There's a window reset procedure that might fix this - maybe caused by the battery disconnect. I believe it's in the owner's manual, but I have a bookmark with the procedure. I'm guessing you can do it on your passenger side, too.The passenger switch acts as a relay for power to the window motor from the driver switch. The passenger side window and now the driver side window are being difficult on the 2015 3.6r. When I press the auto-up button they go up and then about 1 cm from the top they both come back to about half open. The auto-up button is pretty much worthless on the passenger side.
