The tikka .308 barrels are not slow barrels. Mine shoots factory FGMM 175s at 2530 while my 5R shot at 2500fps. The 6.5 tikka barrels are slow but accurate as hell and thats what matters. The 5R 20” will have a little more weight to tame recoil. The tikka is lighter and shooting heavies will be a little stouter.I have shot a Ruger RPR in 6mmC which belongs to a friend, and a Tikka T3x Tac A1 in 6.5C which is mine. I have found the recoil to be almost indistinguishable, the difference is minimal. Accuracy of both guns is excellent, comparable. The Tikka has a better trigger and smoother action.Normally, I am a buy American kind of guy. I drive a Ford truck, I drink Coors, and go out of my way to buy work boots made in the USA. Sometimes, however, we want something a little bit exotic. And the Finnish Tikka T3X TAC A1 is quite possibly the most impressive rifle I have ever picked up. I have a T3 Lite Stainless in .270 and a Hawkeye All-Weather in 7RM. The T3 is lighter, more accurate (thus far), and has a better factory trigger, in my opinion.
