I like playing with armor since it diversifies how I play but even I can't bother to go insane levels because around 200-300 you have to worry about your life but if you use a sly vulpa along with Martyr Symbiosis and Vast untime you'll go to much higher levels. But you'll be relying heavily G.o.L and a high range/strength gaze build to survive.
