NRLCA releases LOU on Step 4 Closed Business or School. 08/16/2023. The NRLCA was approached to discuss the Step 4 in reference to the closed business or school. Hahaha sucks to be rural, you are relying on the "auto" counts. When was the last time they were right? I believe it was actually before automation in the 1960's. Now that automation rules the auto count can be ridiculously off because it can come from a scheme dating from 10 years ago when mail was tanking and a heavy package load was 50 spurs.RRECS and mini mail count are postponed until 2023. Carriers in past counts have validated the counter's numbers.
DPS Flats Issues for Mail Count During a mail count the route will be provided 15 seconds for each tray of DPS flats received (whether full or partial tray). This time will be recorded in Column 17, Other Suitable Allow-ance.
The PS Form 4241-A must be provided to the carrier in order to communicate the new RRECS evaluation for the route. The PS Form 4241-A will be available beginning on Saturday, April 1, 2023 at 7 a.m. In addition to the PS Form 4241-A, the carrier must be provided a copy of the 4241-A RRECS Cheatsheet. If you are making delivery of the packages at the door , you should actually see a good amount of increase in parcels at door credits , out of route walking credit etc . Basically the only thing not counted are carrier routes flats, 3m/throwbacks and parcels. Still counting letters and raw flats locally processed, and if you choose, other letters and flats for verification. 3M/throwbacks WILL be counted when they are pulled from DPS.
