John deere 318 no spark.
Serial number of the tractor is C314L 19146LM. Took the points off and cleaned them. They were a little pitted so I filed them down to take the pitting out. Regapped them a little under .020". Was able to get a little spark when touching a screwdriver across the points. Tried a new spark plug but still no spark.

To jump it, you need to get 12V to wherever the start signal wire attaches to the solenoid. It's purple on my tractor, but I am not sure about the 318. This is usually very easily done with a screw driver between the red wire and the start signal wire.

Hook the fuel pump back up and do this again. Hook the fuel line back up to the carb and see if it will start. A friend of mine asked for my help fixing his John Deere Gator 850i and after doing some diagnostics I have come to the conclusion that it has no spark to either cylinder.
