Dec 7, 2023 · Hmong Dogs with short tails, known as the Hmong Bobtail Dog, are primarily found in the Northwestern mountainous regions of Vietnam. People in this region consider them to be very precious. In the past, they were raised for hunting, but nowadays, they’re more commonly used as guard dogs to protect their owners’ homes. The hmong people migrated south from China. There are still Hmong/Miao people in China as well. Also there is a breed of dog called a hmong dog that hmong people had kept and used for hunting and as watch dog.
