So personally what I'd recommend is that you chose Gold for your first playthrough since it'll surely be a much more fun learning experience, and then once you get used to the game switch to Yellow if you want a challenge. Back in OG DMC3, you had to restart a room with yellow orbs. Gold orbs weren't a thing until DMC3SE.
