Find a 5.3L using the same operating system and swap the engine segments. I did that when my buddy put a 6.0L in his truck. It already had an 0411 I had tuned. I swapped the tune from a 5.7L/4L60E to a 6.0L/4L80E. Personally I would go bigger than a 5.3L in truck but that is me.
Did you guys poke the wire or pull the connector from the pcm and check the tip of the pin. 97 ext cab short bed silverado 5.7 411 swap, edelbrock 29135 intake, lightly ported 906 heads milled .035 thou. factory press in rocker studs & rockers, comp 787 retainers & stock locks, ls6 springs. Would it be better for me to go with the swap kit that includes the 0411 and tune; buy a $30 0411, send it in to BB and have it tuned, then do the repinning, or do all of that and buy EFI Live (which is $900) to tune it ...

I have a 97 K3500 with new, warmed up L29 454 with ported heads and intake, comp 212/218 at .050 cam, stainless headers, 5-0 racing 30lb Bosch injectors, 2001 0411 swap from an L31 5.7L 2500 van, and best-guess initial tune for my setup by Black Bear on the 0411 (sorry..).There is a very effective and economical option for LT1 F body cars swapping to a 411 PCM - especially simple for the later model OBD2 LT1s. This is as fitted to the 1996 C4. There are also options for the earlier LT1 equipped cars but there is some mechcanical work as well as repinning the PCM connectors.after the swap, the idle is low a lextech tune installed i got the kit from him, havent done a crank relearn, idles 600 or so in gear, drop it in gear and it dies96+ Vortec Performance + Computer Swaps. If you are still going the 0411 swap route, you should be able to use any of the Holden Commodore 00-02 LS1b tunes for this. Once you have the OS on there, you can open the corvette file and copy and paste the spark/fuel values etc back over and make any changes needed manually. Might be a bit time consuming but I think that would do the job.

Just for the record, a few years ago I tuned a L30 with an 0411 swap in a C1500 with full bolt-ons that made 235 RWHP and 308 RWTQ on a Dynojet.You have to license the tune that you want to use and you have to license the PCM. The only way to use the segment swap feature is if the tune on the PCM is the same OS as the tune you want to use. I don't believe the V6 os and the V8 os are the same. so you wouldn't be able to swap segments. I could be wrong though.
