Precision Rangers usually aim for 1 very big, very accurate attack per round (using hunter's aim). So the best companion is probably a bird. You use an action to move the bird to an enemy and have it make its support action. Then you use 2 actions to Strike the enemy with +2. The bird will make them bleed and be dazzled, two incredible debuffs.
