Steam ships the deck fedex home delivery...those drivers don't actually work for fedex. What they do is bid the routes out and whoever comes in the lowest gets the route. What you do is, once you get a tracking number, you can go to their site and change the shipping stuff. You should be able to select hold at fed ex facility for pickup.

I think it would be better, if possible of course, that Valve "codes" their Steam Deck shipment and notify the customer of the coded name, for example: Someone orders Steam Deck and it gets shipped as "Stack of Wipes#35" Someone else orders it and it's coded as "500GB Hard Drive"...Then you can contact Steam Support about it with the information from FEDEX. Usually you should then get a replacement unit and FEDEX will reimburse Valve. Of course since the Steam Deck has a long waiting list and each produced unit is preordered it may take a while till they can send you a replacement.
