POF makes innovative stuff that looks very cool. My experience has found that POF quality is sometimes lacking and they don't really stand behind their products. I'd definitely go with the Ruger. So similar applies to 7.62 and .308, just reversed. Generally a rifle is marked for its intended caliber but then you can use the slightly smaller counterpart on it.
