If I remember correctly the kit comes with a hinge adapter that you can use with a standard buffer tube if you wanted to. I looked at the MAC video of him comparing the Virtus and LT barrels and it seems as if the barrel on the LT is a thinner profile behind the gas block and the piston looks a little different.
