First off, you have to beat the Magma Wyrm boss, and if you manage that, you’ll still need a decent amount of dex and intelligence in order to wield it.Obviously in pvp it’s still alive and well. Maybe at the higher end it’s better in pve but so far at lower levels it’s underwhelming. I can’t even use it to level anymore. It doesn’t even stagger regular gate front knights. That was part of what made moonveil so good. Now it just feels like a regular katana with a blue ranged attack. The posture damage is reduced (seems about the level of Unsheathe now, which is still very good) and the recovery on the R2 version of the weapon art is longer, but not punishingly so. Update: Comparing to Unsheathe, I don't really notice much or any difference in the recovery time, so the slower recovery thing might be a red herring.

I'd say moonveil is still the best int weapon, even though i've found 13 other int scaling weapons, they all for one reason or another lack the dmg potential that the moonlight has. I have on and off used this katana for almost all areas of the game, though now lategame im using it a lot less.

Scizzoman. • 2 yr. ago. It's a DEX/INT weapon, if you're pure DEX you probably shouldn't bother with it. If you're DEX/INT it's basically broken though. High damage, high bleed, and its unique skill is a better version of Unsheathe that shoots projectiles stronger than most actual sorceries.
