I just received my self installation kit and I'm trying to set up my service and I was wondering if there is a way to activate the xfi gateway without using the app. The app on my phone is unable to find the device and I'm thinking it is due to my phone being old and.it having trouble connecting to WiFi at my previous residence.I have connected all my devices to my new Xfinity gateway except for my Ring Doorbell. The process is to launch the Ring app which tells me to hit the setup button on the Ring device which creates an area network that my phone should connect to. It creates the network and I connect to it using my phone wifi however nothing happens.I have somewhat similar issue, but it might help. I just talked to a comcast tech rep. She told me that although the router connects to many devices, say 30, the actual Data connection is limited to 11 devices.
