The City of Southport was established in 1832 and was one of the first Marion Country communities to be incorporated in 1853. In 1969, Southport chose to be an “excluded” city within uni-gov, the consolidation of Indianapolis and Marion County governments, thereby retaining its unique presence on the edge of the big city. The Southport Uno has been around for a very long time, although others in Indiana have closed. We regularly enjoy a very good and inexpensive lunch here and always enjoy one of their featured cocktails.
